The holiday season is officially glowing across Baton Rouge! If you’re looking for a little magic this weekend, our city is shining bright with some of the best light displays in Louisiana. Whether you want a cozy drive-through experience, a peaceful walk under twinkling trees, or a family night filled with glowing animals and festive cheer, we’ve rounded up the must-see holiday lights in our Weekend Planner!

The Merriest Mile – Livingston Parish Fairgrounds

Time: 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Details: A magical drive-through light adventure featuring over one mile of synchronized lights, a 50-foot MegaTree, animated displays, and festive scenes perfect for sipping hot cocoa in the car.

Louisiana Lights – Burden Museum & Gardens 

Time: Timed entry 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Details: Enjoy a peaceful evening stroll through illuminated gardens, light tunnels, glowing pathways, and breathtaking scenes woven throughout Burden’s beautiful property.

ZooLights – BREC’s Baton Rouge Zoo

Time: 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. (grounds close at 9:00 p.m.)
Details: Walk through a glowing trail of animal-themed lights, larger-than-life sculptures, and family-friendly holiday displays. Bring a non-perishable food item for 50% off admission.

Baton Rouge General Holiday Lights

Details: Step into a world of enchantment as BRG lights up the night with dancing-light mega trees, singing trees, candy canes, snowmen, and a giant walk-through ornament. A Baton Rouge favorite for photo ops and family fun!

Santa Arrives at Perkins Rowe
Friday, November 28th

Time: 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Details: Kick off the holiday season at Perkins Rowe as Santa makes his grand arrival for the very first photo-op of the year. Families and even pets are welcome to join the festive fun. November 29–December 24 in front of Cinemark. Reservations are encouraged, but walk-ups may be accommodated.

Science Academy (Ages 8–12)


Time: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (Most Saturdays)
Details: Young explorers dive into the exciting world of astronomy, discovering gravity, simple machines, stars, spacecraft, meteors, the Earth–Moon system, and more. Each Saturday features a unique theme such as “Rockets of the Future,” “Planet, Star, Galaxy, Universe,” and “Surveying the Sun.” Registration closes at 4 p.m. the Friday before each session.

Solar Viewing


Time: 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Details: Experience an extraordinary daytime look at the Sun during Solar Cycle 25’s predicted peak. Weather permitting, HRPO staff will showcase sunspots, flares, prominences, and solar features using multiple safe-viewing methods. Suitable for ages six and older. Sunscreen and protective clothing are recommended.

STEM Expansion (Ages 12–16)


Time: 3:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Details: Designed for older kids and teens, this hands-on STEM program features advanced demonstrations, extended topics, games, giveaways, and access to archived experiments not seen in years. Each session explores a different theme, including Aerospace Engineering, Anatomy, and Archaeology. Registration closes the Friday before each session.
