When summer temperatures start climbing in Baton Rouge, there’s one place that always makes its way onto our family’s bucket list: Liberty Lagoon.
As part of our Family Field Trips series, we spent the day cooling off at Baton Rouge’s favorite outdoor water park, and it’s easy to see why families return year after year. It’s not too big that you will lose family members but just big enough for every age in the family.

What’s New This Season?
This summer, Liberty Lagoon is making it even easier for families to enjoy a full day at the park.
One of the biggest updates is the new all-day admission, meaning guests can now stay from opening until closing instead of visiting during designated swim sessions. It’s a simple change that gives families more flexibility to relax, play, grab lunch, and enjoy everything the park has to offer without watching the clock.
BREC has also partnered with SELA Aquatics to enhance the overall guest experience. Visitors will notice a new online ticketing system, updated entrance procedures designed to reduce wait times, refreshed attractions, and improved amenities throughout the park.
And when it’s time for a break, City Pork Catering is now serving food and drinks, making it easy to refuel without leaving the park.
