Baton Rouge – Moms Night Out – Recap

May 20, 2014 by Tiany Davis

On May 8th, 100 Baton Rouge moms joined moms across the country to take part in National Moms Nite Out, the ultimate celebration of motherhood. Moms spend a lot of time making Mother’s Day special for all the moms in their lives.  That’s why National Mom’s Nite Out was created by Maria Bailey, Host of Mom Talk™ Radio. National Mom’s Nite Out gives moms a reason to take the night off and enjoy a fun evening out with fellow moms!

We started the evening off at Kendra Scott at Perkins Rowe for a Kendra Gives Back Party. It was also Teacher Appreciation week, what better way to start our night then to help raise funds for Louisiana Dream Teachers, a nonprofit organization that celebrates Louisiana’s finest educators and educational leaders.

Baton Rouge Moms Night Out

We enjoyed shopping the beautiful Kendra Scott collection, a first for many of us,  while sampling cupcakes from Endless Cakeabilities, lemonade and champagne, all for a great cause. Of course, we had to throw in some fun with “Moms’ Night Out” photos and props too…

After a fun time at Kendra Scott, we walked through Perkins Rowe to Cinemark for our private screening of Moms’ Night Out, the movie. We could tell by the constant laughter and episodes of sniffs with tears that the movie resonated with everyone. Please be sure to read Jodi’s full review of the movie, especially if Moms’ Night Out does not seem like a movie you would enjoy. If you have seen the movie, please let us know what you thought of it in the comments below!

Painting Party with the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge

April 17, 2014 by Guest Contributor

Baton Rouge Moms is taking part in another Painting Party with the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge! Our last paint party was a Mardi Gras themed party and the kids had a great time creating. The children not only received thorough instructions and tips from the instructor, she encouraged them to think outside the box and get creative with their masterpieces.

Painting Party with the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge

Baton Rouge Moms Paint the Town Rouge Event

December 6, 2013 by Tiany Davis

Our Baton Rouge Moms Paint the Town Rouge event is tomorrow night! We are busy putting on the finishing touches to what will surely be a great night out for the moms of Baton Rouge! Unfortunately, we had limited space available, 100 tickets to test the waters for our first event. The response was enormous and we sold out in three short days. We will not be selling tickets at the door. Not to worry though, if you were not able to grab a ticket to this event, we already have more events lined up in the coming months! Be sure to subscribe to our newsletter to keep up with Baton Rouge Moms happenings and information on future events.

Baton Rouge Moms Paint the Town Rouge!

Books for Baton Rouge Holiday Book Drive

We will be collecting new and gently used books at the event for low-income children in the Baton Rouge area. According to the National Center for Education Statistics, 61% of low-income American families do not own any age-appropriate books for their children. We’re hoping we can change that for the children in Baton Rouge. If you are coming to the event and you have extra books around the house that your children are no longer reading and are in good condition, please bring them to the event!

Parking

Parking at The Club at LSU Union Square is located in the garage on Raphael Semmes Road between Highland Road and East Campus Drive. Parking is $1 an hour via metered parking and our event is from 7 to 10pm.

Tickets

Printing tickets to the event will allow for quick entry into the event, however, if you did not receive the email with your ticket attached, we will have a list of all attendees on hand.

Upon entrance, we will be handing out tickets for door prizes, Popology Popcorn and our signature cocktail, the Rouge Spritz, a perfect blend of cranberries and champagne.

We have a fun Red Carpet evening planned with fabulous door prizes and swag for every mom attending. We wanted to keep this event somewhat simple, without shopping or vendors so that we can focus on socializing, making new friends and enjoying each others company. We have some wonderful sponsors that have helped make this event possible! These local businesses have a heart for the community and for Baton Rouge moms!
