Exploring Local Family Fun One Adventure at a Time
There’s something special about summertime in Baton Rouge.
Long sunny days, muddy shoes, snowball stops, playground adventures, splash pads, nature walks, and discovering places right here in our own community that somehow feel brand new through the eyes of our kids.
That’s exactly why we’re so excited to officially launch Baton Rouge Family Field Trips, a brand-new year round series presented by Baton Rouge Family Fun!
We’ll be exploring family-friendly destinations across Baton Rouge and beyond – from nature trails and observatories to parks, museums, splash pads, hidden gems, educational adventures, and local spots families may have never experienced before.
Each Family Field Trip will give local families a closer look at places to:
- explore together
- learn together
- unplug together
- and create lasting memories together
Along the way, we’ll be sharing:
- videos and reels
- family-friendly tips
- what to expect before you go
- highlights for different ages
- hidden gems
- and fun ways to experience each location as a family
We’re kicking off the series with one of our favorite adventures yet, Conservation BioBlitz with BREC, where families had the opportunity to connect with nature, discover local wildlife, and experience hands-on outdoor learning together.
And this is just the beginning.
From observatories and nature centers to playgrounds, parks, community events, and family-friendly businesses, Baton Rouge Family Field Trips is all about discovering the incredible experiences waiting right here in our own backyard.
We’ll also be sharing free printable scavenger hunts, bucket lists, adventure passports, nature bingo, photo challenges, and more to help families create unforgettable memories while exploring Baton Rouge and beyond!
