Details: 90th Louisiana Shrimp & Petroleum Festival this Labor Day Weekend! Kick off Labor Day weekend at this Louisiana tradition celebrating seafood, industry, and culture with live music, food, parades, and more.
CHILDREN’S VILLAGE – Children’s area open on Saturday and Sunday from 1:00-5:00pm offering bounce houses, face painting, and games FREE of charge.
FIREWORKS ON THE RIVER – Sunday night at 9:00pm, Fireworks will blast into the sky over the Berwick Bay. Tune into KQKI 95.3FM for synchronized music.

Science Academy
Under the guidance of HRPO Education Program Specialist, Amy Northrop, Cadets are brought into the wonderful world of astronomy-at their level! They have an exciting chance each Saturday to explore gravity, simple machines, stars, spacecraft, meteors, the Earth and the Moon, asteroids and comets, the electromagnetic spectrum and the American space program. During the entertaining visual presentation, Cadets take part in hands-on demonstrations, crafts and experiments! Each session is stand-alone, and kids never have to make a commitment to attend consecutive sessions.
Solar Viewing
Our parent star takes the stage during this time. Visitors are able to see, with their own eyes, any sizable sunspots or flares occurring. Free literature on solar power and UV protection and free (while supplies last) sunscreen are available.
