1. Read and Create
- When: Saturday, September 7th | 11:15 AM
- Where: Louisiana Art & Science Museum
- What: IT’S PARTY TIME! The Read and Create program is celebrating its one-year anniversary, so for this Saturday’s Read & Create, we will have a party theme for September 7th at 11:15 AM. The book we will be reading is “You Can Throw a Party” by Jan Gniffke. Afterward, the kids will make a party craft.
2. Red Stick Farmers Market
- When: Saturday, September 7th | 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- Where: 5th Street, Downtown Baton Rouge
- What: Shop fresh, local produce, and enjoy family-friendly activities. It’s a great opportunity to teach kids about healthy eating and support local farmers.
3. First Saturdays at Frenchtown – CANCELLED
- When: Saturday, September 7th | 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM
- Where: 17819 Frenchtown Road
Greenwell Springs, LA 70739 - What: Start your month off on the right foot by spending a little time in nature at Frenchtown Road Conservation Area. Activities will focus on connecting both nature lovers and nature novices alike with the inner workings of the largest conservation area in the BREC Conservation system. And just like the site, activities and topics will change monthly. Pre-registration is required, and all children must be accompanied by an adult. The November session will be a Revive Your Mind.
4. LSU Football at Tiger Stadium
- When: Saturday, September 7th | 6:30 PM
- Where: Tiger Stadium
- What: It’s game day! Watch the LSU Tigers for the first Home Game of the season against Nicholls State.
5. Saturnian Opposition
- When: Sunday, September 7th – 8th | 10 PM – 12 AM
- Where: Highland Road Park Observatory
- What: Saturn is exactly 180 degrees from the Sun, rising as the Sun is setting. We are now the closest we’ll be to Saturn this year! Weather permitting viewing of Saturn will take place.
