Details: Celebrate the opening of BREC’s newest gem! The Frenchtown Conservation Area features scenic trails, wildlife, and hands-on nature activities. 10 a.m.– Grand Opening Celebration! Be there as we cut the ribbon and open the doors to a new era of conservation and outdoor exploration!
11 a.m-5 p.m. – The Adventure Continues! We’ll be celebrating all day until 5 p.m. with tour of the building and everything you need to know about the City Nature Challenge Kickoff!
Children’s Garden Party – LSU AgCenter

Location: LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens at Burden
Details: This free event invites children to explore the buzzing, fluttering world of pollinators and beneficial insects through hands-on, engaging activities. The event will include live beehive demonstrations, a build-your-own bee hotel activity, butterfly discovery stations, bug-themed arts and crafts, garden story time and fresh fruit and vegetable tastings.
The event will be held at the Pollinator Playground, a whimsical learning garden designed to connect children with nature through play and exploration. No registration is required.
City Nature Challenge – Baton Rouge

Location: Various parks and green spaces in Baton Rouge
Details: Join this global biodiversity event right in your backyard! Head to any green space, take photos of plants and animals, and upload them to iNaturalist to help track Louisiana’s rich wildlife.
