Baton Rouge Port Visit of NAO TRINIDAD

The USS KIDD Veterans Museum will offer guests a step back into history with the arrival of the Nao Trinidad, a 16th-century Spanish-built replica with a rich history. The tall ship will be sailing upriver to Baton Rouge next month and be open for public tours from March 13th through the 25th on the downtown riverfront.
The NAO TRINIDAD was the flagship of the Magellan-Elcano expedition, leading the first expedition to circumnavigate the world between 1519 and 1522. Leading a fleet of five ships from Seville, Spain, TRINIDAD aided in the discovery of the Strait of Magellan at the southern tip of South America and crossed the Pacific. The wear and tear of the voyage took its toll on the fleet, with only the NAO VICTORIA surviving to return to Spain.
