In the heart of Baton Rouge, a wickedly awesome non-profit organization was born in July 2010 – the one and only 10/31 Consortium! Picture a club bursting with Halloween enthusiasts; you’ve got a pretty good idea of what this group is all about. But there’s more to it than meets the eye – they’re the folks responsible for some of the most thrilling Halloween-themed events you’ll ever experience!

At 10/31 Consortium, Halloween isn’t just a holiday; it’s a way of life! They brew up a cauldron of spooktacular events throughout the year, all leading to the grand finale. And what’s that, you ask? Well, it’s a trio of unforgettable celebrations!

The Fifolet Arts Market is your one-stop shop for any and all things Halloween! Artists, crafters, and makers will set up tents alongside local non-profit organizations showcasing their creative community efforts. Live music, entertainment, costumed characters, and activities for kids throughout the day with food vendors and a beer tent make this the perfect place to hang out with family while waiting for the Halloween Parade to begin. This event is free to attend; however, fees apply for contests and tent space.

Pumpkin Pie Eating Contest – Prove your love of pumpkin spice by seeing who can finish eating an 8-inch pumpkin pie first! Space is limited; you must be 18 years old or have parent/guardian permission and be present. Register below. Pies generously donated by Elsie’s Plate and Pie!

Pumpkin Carving Contest – Drop off your pre-carved pumpkin starting at 11 a.m. Pumpkins will be placed around the market area, and judging will take place at 2 p.m. Pre-registration below is required.

2023 Fifolet 5k

Run or walk in costume on the Mississippi River Levee with the Fifolet 5k! This out-and-back route on the levee provides a great river view for your morning costume run. Each 5k runner will receive this beautiful and sparkled blue flame sun-catcher medal!

But wait, there’s more to this ghostly group! 10/31 Consortium isn’t just about enjoying the Halloween spirit; they’re all about giving back. They’ve got a heart as big as a cauldron, and they use it to:

Support Kids’ Health: By raising funds for Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital, they ensure that the little monsters in our lives get the care they need.

Fight Hunger: The organization collects food for the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank, ensuring no one goes hungry in their spooky neighborhood.

Dress Up Dreams: They gather costumes for children in the Baton Rouge Big Buddy Program, helping kids transform into their favorite characters.

Promote Safe Halloween: And to top it all off, they work closely with local neighborhoods to make sure everyone has a spooktacular, yet safe, Trick or Treat experience.
