Where did October go? It’s hard to believe we are rolling into November this week. The temperatures are finally cooling down and the weather has been so pleasant, I hope it continues. The month of November will be a busy one for events in Baton Rouge, we hope to launch a new interactive Calendar of Events this week. We’ll let you know when it’s up!

- Greater Baton Rouge State Fair
- 2013 Castle Creepfest – Monday, October 28, 2013 – Old State Capital – This year’s Halloween event is presented in partnership with ExxonMobil. ExxonMobil will be providing many exciting kid friendly activities such as: face painting, magic shows, mad scientist demonstrations and games. Guests are encouraged to dress in costume and bring a trick or treat costume. Food will be available for purchase. Admission is $5 per child and tickets can be purchased at the door.
Tuesday
- LSU Tiger Marching Band to Host Annual Tigerama Event Oct. 29 at Pete Maravich Assembly Center – 9:30am and 7:00pm The LSU Tiger Marching Band, Golden Girls and Colorguard have entertained millions of LSU fans as they perform before, during and after football games at Tiger Stadium, as well as other special events locally, nationally and abroad.

Red Stick Farmers Market – Come by and pick up some locally grown treats Thursday morning at the infamous Red Stick Farmer’s Market! Pennington Biomedical Research Center – 8:00 pm to 12:00 pm

- Trunk of Treats – Children will collect safe, tasty Halloween treats from the trunks of vehicles while participating in a variety of exciting carnival games and activities. – Anna T. Jordan Community Park, 1750 Stilt St., called Trunk of Treats on Oct. 31 from 6-9 p.m
- BREC-A-BOO Halloween events, participants will have loads of frightening fun at BREC parks. The excitement consists of carnival games, costume contests, inflatables and more. Each event runs from 6-8 p.m. at Gus Young Park, 4200 Gus Young Ave. This event is sponsored by the Martin Luther King Center, Councilwoman C. Denise Marcelle and Capitol City Family Health –WIC and Metro Health.

– Perkins Rowe really comes alive on Rock N Rowe Thursdays. Justin Adams Band, one of Baton Rouge’s most entertaining bands will play an exciting live show in Town Square Park. Start your weekend early with shopping, dining and a little rocking at Perkins Rowe.

- Live after Five in Downtown Baton Rouge– David St. Romain » (High Energy Soul/Country) – The Capital City’s premier FREE live, outdoor, music entertainment. Hosted by the Downtown Business Association, it takes place every spring and fall with a various genres of music. The concert series is held every year to entice people to visit and journey through downtown Baton Rouge. Visitors then have the opportunity to visit with the local merchants and their businesses in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

- Red Stick Farmers Market – 8am – 12pm – 501 Main Street Baton Rouge, LA The Red Stick Farmers Market is a producer only market with over 50 vendors that has been in operation for nearly ten years. Open on Saturday mornings from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm in conjunction with The Main Street Market which is a six day a week public marketplace located on the first floor of the Galvez Garage in downtown Baton Rouge.
