Liberty Lagoon Opens This Weekend – May 23rd

If your kids have already started asking when they can go swimming again, the wait is over. Liberty Lagoon officially opens for the season this weekend, just in time for Baton Rouge families to kick off summer break.

And honestly? It sounds like this may be one of their best seasons yet.

BREC has partnered with SELA Aquatics this year, and several updates have been made throughout the park to help improve the overall experience for families. After hearing plenty of feedback from visitors over the past few summers, they focused on making things smoother, faster, and more enjoyable from the moment you walk through the gates.

One of the biggest changes parents will probably appreciate most is the new all-day admission system. Instead of the old session format, families can now stay and play as long as they want until the park closes for the day.

They’ve also updated the entrance process with a new ticketing and security system designed to help cut down on those long opening lines that many families experienced in previous years.

Inside the park, several attractions have been refreshed for the new season, including the lazy river and water slides. Both sides of the popular FlowRider surf simulator are also expected to be fully operational this summer.

And yes, there’s good news for food too. City Pork Catering will now be handling food and beverage service inside the park.

For families planning their first visit of the season, Liberty Lagoon still offers all the favorites kids love most:

  • Lazy river
  • Water slides
  • Splash areas
  • FlowRider
  • Water playground
  • Family seating areas

There are also several conveniences that make visits easier for parents, including free parking, complimentary lifejackets, family changing rooms, locker rentals, and free lazy river tube rentals.
