Zoo Entry Building Ribbon Cutting: 10:30 AM

Be part of history as we unveil the brand-new Zoo entry building! The first 70 visitors to arrive will receive free Zoo passes, so be sure to get there early. The ceremony will include a ribbon-cutting event to mark this exciting moment.

Baton Rouge Zoo Grand Opening

Live Music, Character Appearances, and Photo Booth: 9:30 AM – 1:30 PM

After the ribbon cutting, enjoy lively entertainment throughout the day, including live music, beloved character appearances, and a fun photo booth where you can capture memories of your special day at the Zoo.

New Zoo Entrance Location

Please note that the Zoo entrance has moved! Starting October 5th, you’ll enter the Zoo through the new location at 3000 Zoo Circle via 13350 Highway 19, Baker. The previous entry point off Thomas Road is now closed, so make sure to use the new address for all future visits.

Baton Rouge Zoo Grand Opening

Bayou Promenade Ribbon Cutting: 1:30 PM

The celebration continues with the grand opening of the Bayou Promenade, a beautiful new addition to the Zoo that promises to provide an engaging and educational experience for visitors of all ages. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be followed by performances, interactive activities, and delicious food truck offerings from 12:30 PM – 2:30 PM.

Greenwood Community Park Adventure Playground Ribbon Cutting: 4:30 PM

Cap off the day with the grand opening of Greenwood Community Park’s brand-new Adventure Playground! This innovative space is designed to inspire kids’ imagination and offer hours of outdoor fun. Join the mock ribbon-cutting ceremony and enjoy live music and interactive entertainment from 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM.
