As if the solar eclipse and dazzling Northern Lights weren’t exciting enough, we now have a planet parade to look forward to. On June 3rd, six planets—Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune—will align in the night sky, creating a stunning celestial display.

This rare event will be most visible in the early morning hours, about one hour to 20 minutes before sunrise. For the best experience, find a location with minimal light pollution and a clear view of the horizon. Urban areas can obscure the view of fainter planets, so head to rural areas or high vantage points for optimal visibility.
Jupiter, the second brightest object in the night sky after the moon, will be the easiest to spot. Mars, Saturn, and potentially Mercury can be seen with the naked eye, while Uranus and Neptune may require binoculars or a telescope.

August 24-31 will be even better as Jupiter rises high enough above the horizon to join Mars and Saturn. September 2-8 is even better as Mercury will be high enough and separated from the Sun in the dawn sky to be seen.
