Kids to Parks Day

Celebrate the 12th anniversary of Kids to Parks Day with BREC, an annual day of outdoor exploration at local, state, and national parks and public lands across the country! On May 21, join BREC at Highland Road or Zachary Community Park from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. where all of the old games we know will be turned into something new! This event is free for all ages!

The St. Tammany Hamburger Festival takes place on Friday, May 20 – 22, 2022 at the St. Tammany Parish Fairgrounds, situated in the heart of its beautiful and rich culture. St. Tammany Hamburger Festival will draw people from all over the south and beyond! In fact, you really won’t want to miss this year’s festival. It will feature the First Annual Burger Eating Competition!! On top of that, you can expect over 30 hamburger stands, 2 stages of non-stop musical entertainment, numerous contests, children’s activities, local art, and handmade crafts, and lots of other fun too!
NOMA Family Festival: The Mighty Mississippi

Kids and grown-ups are invited to enjoy a day of family-friendly outdoor activities and art-making inspired by the Mississippi River, and its ties to New Orleans.
- Eco-Futurisms art-making activity with Alaina Comeaux
- Mapping Together art-making activity
- Pop-up workshops on the history of the land with Grow Dat Youth Farm
- 11:30 am and 1:30 pm: Garden Walk with the Water Collaborative
- 1 pm: Performance by the Youth Empowerment Project Drumline
- Food available for purchase outside the Besthoff Sculpture Garden.
