Swamp Flashlight Night


Friday, August 12th, 5-9pm
BREC’s Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center

Staff will be facilitating live animal encounters throughout the event. Enjoy a leisurely night hike with your family and friends. The swamp trails can be really dark at night – so don’t forget to bring a flashlight. If you don’t have one, check out our gift shop for some options. Close-toed shoes and insect repellant are recommended. Please note that admission to the trails ends at 8:15 p.m.

Perseid Meteor Shower

Did you know that every summer the Earth plows through a trail of cometary debris? HRPO will host a viewing session during the nighttime period, so patrons can experience the best chance to see high meteor rates that will shower the earth.

Bring the kids to the Farmers Market for some balloon art from 9am – 11am, plus farmers market pencils, tattoos, fans, veggie photo prop, discounted Gelato, and Sprouts activities!

This Saturday is the last day of National Farmers Market Week. Farmers markets have always been a hub of innovation, connection, and education which feels more important every year. Proper food education and access is all it takes to bridge a child’s understanding and appreciation of new foods. Join us this Saturday as we celebrate the new school year with lots of fresh food and family fun!

Roll into Summer Slam with us and enjoy a day-long celebration of the end of summer at the Skatepark! Come join us for music, food, fun, and extremely good riding. Beginning at 3 p.m. the park will get blasted with non-stop music as well as have food vendors until 7 p.m. We will have a skatepark jam session involving our skaters, bikers, and scooters with fantastic prizes for best tricks!
