Asteroid Day

Highland Road Park Observatory

FREE/ All Ages
Spearheaded by BRAS, this is the very first celebration at HRPO of this worldwide event! HRPO will provide information on the origins of asteroids, viewing them and their danger to Earth. Hands-on demonstrations and activities will focus on the “minor planets”.

 


Celebration in the Park & Fireworks – Central

Saturday, July 2nd, 3:00 PM – 8:30 PM

The City of Walker and its Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a family friendly, fun filled day at Sidney Hutchinson Park. There will be a Farmer’s Market, Food Trucks, Live Music by the Boxwine Band, and free children’s games! The day will end with a fireworks show choregraphed to music.
Family Passes are being offered for $25.00. Includes VIP parking and viewing, a/c bathrooms and cold water.
Complimentary transportation will be provided throughout the day from Walker High School to the Park.

2022 Kenilworth Independence Day Parade

In celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Kenilworth Independence Day Parade, the theme is GOLDEN JUBILEE! Get ready for several groups and floats, including the Greenwell Springs Youth Riders, BREC’s Zoo Mobile, and Peanut.

 


Red, White & Zoo Day!

BREC’s Baton Rouge Zoo
Saturday, July 2nd, 9:30 AM  – 5:00 PM

After shopping at the Red Stick Farmers’ Market, head to BREC’s Baton Rouge Zoo. Celebrate the red, white and blue animal friends. Search for your favorites and complete a scavenger hunt of the red/white/blue animals you see along the path of your Zoo visit. Regular Zoo admission applies. Free for members!


Fourth Fest West Baton Rouge

Monday, July 4th, 4:00 PM – 10:30 PM

Visit the Westside for the Best View of Fourth Fest and Fireworks! Held July 4th in downtown Port Allen at the Riverfront on the Mississippi River Levee. The fun starts annually at 4:00pm and ends at 10:30pm. Free to the public and includes face painting, magicians, clowns and space walks for the children. Beverage & food vendors line the levee for all to enjoy. Live entertainment with several local bands allow the crowds plenty of dance music to enjoy before and after the spectacular fireworks show on the river. All brought to you by WBR Parks & Recreation and the City of Port Allen.
